Skin Disorders

Skin disorders are caused when skin becomes compromised, exuding visible and sometimes irritating symptoms on the Epidermis. There are many internal and external factors that can cause a reaction or a conflict on the skin. The most common atopic afflictions that can cause the skin to react in a negative way are mostly brought upon by allergens, exposing the skin to certain detergents, bug bites and some foods. This can lead to skin disorders such as atopic dermatitis, hives, itching, swelling and rashes. Internal factors that can cause trauma to the skin are associated with skin disorders, such as psoriasis, melasma, acne and rosacea. Internal and external contributions to skin disorders can be difficult to diagnose. Fortunately, once a condition and a cause has been determined, appropriate and effective treatment can be recommended to address the skin disorder.

Factors in skin disorders and conditions that they can cause are:

Hormones: An imbalance or sudden change with hormones can cause conditions such as acne and melasma.

Sensitive: Skin that's reactive and responds with itchy, dry, scaling, rash, ezcema, hives and other skin irritations caused by outside elements that come in contact with the skin.

Internal: Auto-immune disorders can create topical skin conditions like psoriasis. Rosacea is a chronic condition that's an internal issue as well as a topical one. Acne and melasma conditions also fall under the internal category.

External: Skin tissue that responds when contact is made with specific products, detergents, bug bites, etc. It reacts with swelling, irritation, inflammation or other forms of atopic dermatitis.

Once a diagnosis is confirmed, professional grade skincare products can then be applied along with a proper regimen for product use/application. In mild cases that don't require a doctor's prescription, professional estheticians can help clients with most skin disorders. Even with chronic skin disorders, such as rosacea and psoriasis, effective treatment is available. As with any medical condition, always seek the guidance of licensed physician to ensure long-term health.
