Ancient Egyptians are historically remembered for being the first people to use natural and organic skincare products to beautify the face, but what is less spoken of is the ancient Egyptians' use of these same botanicals to create natural and organic body products. Everything from cleansers to cellulite creams were created and the ingredients found in today’s organic and natural body products are many of the same ones used in ancient Egypt.
Organic body products use fruit butters for hydration, sugar, salt and crushed nutshells for exfoliating scrubs, essential oils to tone the skin, botanical extracts for rejuvenation, plant-derived peptides to firm the skin and fruit acids to brighten the skin. A natural body product may replace the nutshells with more gentle silicone beads for sensitive skin.
