Hyperpigmentation Skin Treatments
Hyperpigmentation is a skin disorder where an overproduction of melanin (pigment) presents itself as dark spots, age spots, freckles and/or a dark “mask” on the surface of the skin. The condition becomes really apparent with sun exposure.
Hyperpigmentation is caused by many intrinsic (internal) factors, such as hormone production, and extrinsic (external) factors, such as long-term sun damage. It's the end result of the bodys immune system triggering an inflammatory response, which then triggers melanin activity in an attempt to protect the skin's DNA from damage.
At Skin Trends, our three-step systems are designed to substantially reduce these dark spots, age spots and dark patches by working to inhibit the body from producing melanin in the skin. Treatment systems are configured to clean, correct and protect the focused areas while key agents reduce the dark discolorations on the skin's surface.
First, our professional-level cleansers combine agents to effectively remove dirt and makeup without stripping the skin of its essential moisture. The cleansing process exfoliates the surface of the dermis to increase cellular (skin cell) turnover. This process, over time, results in the reduction of visible dark spots and patches.
Secondly, our correctors provide melanogenesis inhibitors to help skin stop the chain reaction that results in these dark spots. These inhibitors help to fade discolorations and brighten the skin's surface.
Finally, the protectors will help rehydrate, renew and protect the skin from the sun's damaging UV rays. This step of the process is essential to preventing further extrinsic darkening, so consistent protection including head coverings (hats) is recommended.
Our Hyperpigmentation Skin Treatment systems are the highest quality, most effective solutions for everyday skin care.
