Oily Skin Treatments
Oily Skin is the classification of a skin type in which the skin has excess and unneeded sebum (oil) production. This natural oil is secreted from the skin follicles and, under normal conditions, helps to protect the skin from environmental damage and aging. When the production of this natural oil is more than what we need, the excess can be, at best, physically unappealing.
Oily skin follicles (skin pores) are visibly larger than normal skin follicles, so they require more cleansing and exfoliating than other skin types. Balancing oil production through product treatments and proper diet is very important; it must be coordinated to be effective. Overcleansing can make matters worse by stripping the skin's acid mantle (skin's surface) and unduly irritating it. If the skin is stripped, it causes the body's protection mechanisms to produce additional oil, thus defeating the purpose.
At Skin Trends, our three-step systems are designed to chemically balance the skin's barrier function. A balanced system produces the right amount of oil for skin protection.
Oily Skin Treatment systems are configured to clean, correct and protect the focused areas, while providing the agents needed to reduce sebaceous oil production and maintain the important protective barrier mantle.
First, our professional-level cleansers combine ingredients to effectively remove dirt and makeup through the skin-exfoliation process. This leaves previously oily skin clean, soft, balanced and oil-free.
Secondly, our correctors provide a blend of agents to reduce sebum (oil) production, increase skin's cellular-turnover rate and, over time, reduce the size of skin pores.
Finally, our oil-free protectors hydrate the skin to replace the moisture lost during the day and during the cleanse/correct process. High-grade ingredients protect your skin from the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays that cause cellular damage during sun exposure.
Our Oily Skin Treatment Systems are the highest quality, most effective solutions for everyday skin care.

Oily Skin Treatments
A skin care regimen for any skin type, is generally different in the summer time. This fundamental fact is especially true for oily skin types. Heat and humidity can cause sebum (natural oils) to increase. This happens because our sebaceous glands tend to produce more oil when the skin is dehydrated, in a natural attempt for the body to keep the skin lubricated. Even though it’s natural oil created for protection, it can be unappealing, at best. Let's face it, greasy skin is not pretty and it does not feel clean. So, what kind of skin care regimen and skin care...Read more
